We are influenced by our thoughts. The problem is that all of us deal with toxic thoughts. In this lesson, we learn how to overcome our toxic thoughts.

First, Identify Toxic Thoughts

Here are four types of toxic thoughts:

  1. Negative thoughts
  2. Fearful thoughts
  3. Unhappy thoughts
  4. Critical thoughts

But understanding toxic thoughts is only the first step.

Next, Stop Listening to Lies and Start Listening to God

Philippians 4:8 Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.

God is telling us that we need to starting thinking differently, and that’s the last point.

Begin to Think Like God

Romans 12:2 Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God.

The more we listen to God through reading the Bible and learning about him in small group, the more we will start to think like God does. We will believe what’s true, and not a bunch of lies.
