Have you ever fallen off your bike, scraped your knee, or ruined a drawing and wished you had an “undo” button? We all make mistakes, and some can’t be undone. The Bible says we can’t fix our sin on our own. But Jesus can. Faith means trusting him to give us a fresh start.
This is part of The Grid for Kids. Your “grid” is like a sifter in your heart. It’s made of Bible truths that help you keep the good ideas and toss out the bad ones.
The Rock of Faith
The third rock in your Bible grid is faith. Everyone has sinned, and sin separates us from God (Romans 3:23). But God didn’t leave us stuck.
John 3:16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
When you believe in Jesus and trust him with your heart, he forgives your sins and gives you a brand-new start. Jesus called this being “born again” (John 3:3).
Trust, Not Perfection
God doesn’t ask you to be perfect. He asks you to trust him. Faith is a lot like sitting in a chair. You don’t just believe the chair will hold you up. You sit down and let it! Faith in Jesus means leaning your whole weight on him every day, especially when you feel scared, confused, or worried.
2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!
The Takeaway
Faith means trusting Jesus with all your heart, and he gives you a fresh start. This week, when you face a hard decision or feel like you messed up big, stop and pray, “Jesus, I trust you with my heart.”
