Every Christian should value people, truth, authenticity, leadership and risk-taking for God. These values come straight from the Bible and shape how we treat others, what we believe and how we live. When your values line up with God’s, your choices start to reflect his heart.

People and Truth

People matter to God because he created them and loves them. Every person has value because every person is made in his image.

Genesis 1:27 So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.

That means every classmate, teammate and stranger deserves respect. Truth matters too. Christianity isn’t a fairy tale we wish were true. The Bible describes real events, including Jesus’ death and resurrection, which were witnessed by many people (1 Corinthians 15:3-5).

Authenticity

Christians don’t have to pretend to be perfect. We’re saved by grace, not by our performance, so we can be honest about our victories and our failures.

1 Samuel 16:7 But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The Lord does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”

God cares about your heart, not your image. When you’re authentic, you make room for real friendships and real growth.

Leadership and Risk-Taking

Leaders are crucial for growing God’s kingdom and reaching the next generation. Following good leaders and becoming one yourself both matter (Hebrews 13:17). And because God is powerful, Christians can take big risks, like sharing their faith or stepping into something new, trusting him to come through. Jesus said it this way: “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible” (Matthew 19:26).

The Takeaway

Every Christian should value people, truth, authenticity, leadership and taking risks for God. These values help you live out your faith in a way that reflects God’s heart.
