If God is a good God, why does he allow bad stuff to happen?

Key Points:

  • God did not create bad; bad was not created, it only exists in the void of good.
  • When Adam and Eve sinned, they chose the bad over the good and rebelled against God. Through that decision all of humanity was what the Bible calls “cursed,” or fundamentally flawed by this exposure to the bad that came from the rejection of good.
  • God allows the bad temporarily in order to give us time to repent and turn to Jesus.
  • There will be a time when God no longer allows the bad to exist.
