Communion is important and you can do it at home with your family.

Talking Points:

  • Do it in community. The early church did it as part of a group meal. 1 Corinthians 10:16-17
  • Make it about Jesus. The point is to remember his sacrifice for our sins. 1 Corinthians 11:23-26
  • Take time for self- examination. Don’t take communion with a self-centered focus. 1 Corinthians 11:27-28
  • Include only Christians. If your children haven’t made a personal profession of faith, don’t give communion to them.
  • Use meaningful elements. You’re not required to use wine but the closer to the original the better.
