Life Verses for Parents and Teens | Life Verses #2
Help your kids discover how they can live a new life in Jesus. 2 Corinthians 5:17
Talking Points:
- The world is full of temptation, especially for teenagers. Honoring God means we needs to exhibit self-control over our emotions.
- Part of our new nature is the Holy Spirit living in us that helps us to say “No” to things that don’t honor God. He gives us the strength to live for God.
- Just because we are made new doesn’t mean we won’t still struggle with sin. When we mess up, we can repent to God and move forward. God is forgiving and wants to restore us every time we make a mistake. Our job is to learn from our mistakes, avoid temptation, and keep our eyes focused on Jesus.

Life Verses for Parents and Teens | Life Verses #3
Your kids shouldn’t be afraid or timid in life. God wants them to be bold and courageous. 2 Timothy 1:7
Talking Points:
- This verse gives us confidence to stand up for God. The Holy Spirit gives us the ability to be brave and powerful.
- This verse helps us to face fears of failure and rejection instead shrinking back from a challenge because we are scared. The better way to be is to give 100% and be okay with the results no matter what they are.
- The second part of the verse is important as well as it points to what the Spirit gives us; power, love, and self-discipline. We have the ability to be loving to the jerks in our lives, we have the power to stand up to temptation, and we have the ability to choose self-control over rash behavior.
