Less than half of Christians go to church regularly. Is that a problem?

5 Reasons to go to church:

  1. Jesus did it. Luke 4:16, Ephesians 5:24
  2. The church needs your gifts, talents and abilities. 2 Corinthians 5:10
  3. It’s good for your kids. Proverbs 22:6
  4. Gain support from a loving community.
  5. A great way to make connections.
Discussion:
  1. Initial reactions to this topic? What jumped out at you?
  2. Make two lists. What you like about church. What you dislike.
  3. Read Luke 4:16 and Ephesians 5:24. Why did Jesus value going to his local synagogue? Why do you think Jesus chose to compare his love for us to that of a husband and wife?
  4. Read Proverbs 22:6. If you grew up in church, what benefits did you get from that? If you’re a parent, why is their value to bringing your kids to church?
  5. How has your church helped you or someone you know in a time of need? Why is community important?
  6. Is there a step you need to take based on today’s topic?
