The sports world says that for coaches, winning more games, moving up the coaching ladder, or moving up the pay scale is what it’s all about. But is it?

Talking Points:

  • The sports world says that winning more games, moving up the coaching ladder, moving up the pay scale… essentially what you DO is more important than WHO you are. That is completely backwards! God’s says, “Coach, WHO you are is more important than what you DO.” God is far more concerned about your character than he is your career.
  • Start by reading your Bible. You can’t live it if you don’t know it. Matthew 7:24-27
  • Join a huddle and pursue God with others who can encourage and strengthen your faith.
  • Find a mentor. Walk with someone one on one who can help you grow as a Christian and as a coach one topic at a time.
