Takers are people who make life all about them and who become increasingly self-absorbed, often without even realizing it.

Talking Points:

  • If you are a taker, as you grow older you believe that everything should be handed to you. You often wonder why didn’t I get this? Or why didn’t you do that for me? You feel you deserve everything and if you don’t receive what you are looking for then you view yourself as a victim. Being a taker leads to a victim mentality.
  • Takers have their own version of reality. Maybe a friend has tried to speak to you about acting like a victim. The problem is you have weaved such a web of lies in your own mind that you can’t see what others are trying to show you.
  • When something is toxic, that means it’s poisonous. Being a taker is just that, it’s poison. This toxic material that you have become will either infect people or repel them.
  • Takers never make an impact on other people. They instead look for other people to make an impact on them.
  • The longer you spend in your life as a taker, the more you just push away true maturity. You will never have the opportunity to reach your potential in any area of your life. Don’t be a taker! Instead, learn to be a giver.
