When we talk about “groups,” we’re just talking about connecting with people in your world in intentional ways. Here are some examples:

  • A couples’ devotional.
  • A family devotional.
  • A men’s or women’s group.
  • A small group.
  • One-on-one mentoring/discipleship.

When we say “start a group,” we’re encouraging you to regularly explore a topic or take a series to spark a conversation with people in your life. And the reason for doing it is simple: it’ll change your world.

If you’re a follower of Jesus, you are called to “make disciples” as part of your Christian life. This is not an option, but a command! And one of the best ways to make disciples is to intentionally seek out groups in your life to mentor.

Matthew 28:19-20 Jesus came and told his disciples, “I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth. Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”

It’s easier than you think, and anyone can do it. So start a group today.
