We all hit a point in our lives when people begin to ask us questions about our plans for the future. Most of the time, we have no idea how to answer these questions and are struggling to find our path in life. Getting caught up in these questions can lead to self doubt and feelings of stress and anxiety. In this video, Kelly Carolini describes how to achieve a God-lead future.

Getting caught in the questions

When we struggle to answer questions about college or career-paths, we can easily feel anxious and lost. When we focus too much on what was put on our heart, we lose sight of who put it there in the first place! Even when we find something that we are passionate about, more questions will follow about which path within that passion we will follow. Instead of getting caught up in these questions, trust that the God who gave you those passions will also lead you in using them to help others. Matthew 6:23 says “But first seek His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.”

Everything is connected to God

God is at the center of our lives. He gave us our passions and will be faithful in leading us towards using those passions. But most importantly, God has called us to serve Him. He will continue to lead us where our passion is needed, but serving Him always comes first. In John 12:26 Jesus says “Whoever serves me must follow me; and where I am, my servant also will be. My father will honor the one who serves me.” God wants us to walk WITH Him, trusting him every single day in every single moment.

Why we don’t have all the answers

During the confusion of not knowing what to choose or what you want to do, it is easy to get frustrated and stressed. We may even wish that we had our entire lives written out step by step for us. But, if we knew our entire path, it would be easy to think that we don’t need God. The unknown forces us to trust and rely on God more and more. He doesn’t give us all our steps right away, but He does guide our steps one at a time.

Receiving questions about your future may seem daunting, but don’t get caught up in the questions. If you do not know your path, you are not alone! God is at the center of it all, and all He wants is for you to first serve Him. 1 Peter 4:10 says “Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.” Seek and serve Him first, and He will guide you in using your passions to serve others.
