When Jesus took a boat ride with his disciples, everyone learned a lesson that they would never forget.
One day, Jesus was tired because he had been teaching crowds of people about who he was and what he came to do. At some point, Jesus said to his disciples, “Hey let’s cross to the other side of the lake.” He probably needed a break and just wanted some time to relax with his friends. So, the disciples and Jesus jumped on a boat and sailed away. They were having a nice day enjoying the beauty of the water and eventually Jesus took a nap. Well, all of a sudden, a huge storm developed and the wind started blowing really hard and the waves were crashing against the boat and the boat started to fill with water. The disciples were freaking out! They thought they were about to drown. You would think Jesus was scared, too. Nope! Jesus was sleeping through the storm! He wasn’t concerned at all. In fact, once the disciples woke him, Jesus just spoke to the storm and told it to stop and it did! Wow! Jesus is that powerful that even the storm listens to him. That’s amazing. Kids, this story teaches us a lesson. Jesus has the power to calm any storm. We don’t need to be afraid. Jesus will be there to help!
