Stress isn’t just a parent thing. Your kids have stress, too, and they need help to learn how to manage it.

  • Parents, it’s important to know what triggers your kids so you can help them wade through the challenges of stress. Times are different from when you were a teen and it’s important to hear from your teen to understand the stress that weighs them down. 
  • Teens, your parents aren’t mind readers. You have to share your struggles with your parents so they can offer guidance and support.

  2. Parents, what are some challenges you faced as a teen? Explain.
  3. Teens, what are you most stressed out about right now and why?
  4. What do you typically do to relieve stress?
  5. Do you think your family knows what stresses you? Why or why not?
  6. Teens, do you feel like the people closest to you minimize your stress? Explain. How can your parents better respond to you when you’re stressed out?
  7. Parents, what do you need from your teenager to feel like you’re on the same page with them?
  8. Read Philippians 4:6-7. Challenge the family to memorize this verse. What does this passage say about what you don’t need to do? What would it look like to turn your stress over to God? Why is it better to let God lead rather than your stress?
  9. Is there a step you need to take based on today’s topic?
