What if Tony Robbins gave you a year of his time and wisdom? What if God did it?

Talking Points:

  • What would you do if Tony Robbins came to you and said he would spend a year helping you to grow your investment? You would probably jump at the chance to learn from a guy who has done well for himself.
  • Tony would spend time with you teaching you what to do but your success will only come when you put his principles into practice.
  • Jesus taught a similar lesson with the parable of the talents. A master gave an investment to three different people and all three had a different response to the gifts. Clearly the servants who did something with their treasures were the ones rewarded. Matthew 25:14-30
Discussion:
  1. Initial reactions to this topic? What jumped out at you?
  2. Read Matthew 25:14-30. Who was praised in the story? Why did the master in the parable get angry when the servant did nothing with his talent/money?  After all, the servant protected his money & returned everything he was given. What is Jesus’ point to the parable?
  3. Identify a talent or two most people don’t know you have. How could that talent be used to build God’s kingdom?
  4. How many times has God called you to get in the game and you didn’t answer? Or another way: How many times has God knocked on your door & tried to get your attention? Why did you hesitate or ignore those promptings?
  5. What can you start doing to invest your God-given talents to help others?
  6. Is there a step you need to take based on today’s topic?
