This is lesson 5 in a 6-week Five Thresholds of Faith InterVarsity series

In the “seeking” threshold, people are often looking everywhere, investigating everything. Jesus is one of the many things they’re looking into as they meander. If you are a Christian, your goal should be to help these seekers understand what questions mean most to them, so they can turn those questions toward Jesus.

Video Highlights:

  • There several myths about the “seeking” threshold.
  • One myth is that people will become seekers all on their own. But just as in the other thresholds, people usually need help moving into and through each threshold.
  • Another is that people are seekers for a long time, but people tend only to be seekers for up to three months.
  • A third is that people will clarify their search for themselves. But many people don’t know what they are actually seeking and need guidance and good questions asked of them to help them see what they are actually seeking.
  • We can be friends with people in their quest through prayer by praying for and with our seeking friends. We can help them ask and wrestle with life’s big questions. We can encourage our seeking friends to read through the gospels on their own and with us.
