Christianity is the only major religion with more women than men. What’s up with that?

Talking Points:

  • Most men can motivate themselves to start a business or stay in shape, but when it comes to church, they lack the desire. Some guys would rather stay home and watch the game.
  • For some men, the worship time at church comes off as feminine. Some of the lyrics in the songs sound strange to newcomers. And for many men, they simply can’t sing.
  • The more we disconnect as men from the church, the more we will struggle spiritually in our lives. And as leaders in the home, that will affect our wives and kids. Hebrews 10:24-25

  3. For the average guy who attends your church, how often does he come? What are some of the reasons he stays home?
  4. Read Psalm 95:1-2. People go to rock concerts and sing along to the radio. Why does singing at church have a negative connotation for men? How can a church change that perception?
  5. What can your church do to be more “man-friendly”?
  6. Read Hebrews 10:24-25. What is the point of gathering together at church? What happens in your life when you’re disconnected from your faith community?
  7. Is there a step you need to take based on today’s topic?
