The kids these days... they need a Jesus they can relate to.

Talking Points:

  • Even though the Bible doesn’t say much, Jesus was once a teenager who faced challenges just like you do.
  • Jesus had siblings and probably had frustrations with them from time to time.
Discussion:
  1. Initial reactions to this topic? What jumped out at you?
  2. What does the Bible say about Jesus in his early years? Try to find verses.
  3. Make a list of issues teens deal with today. How do you think Jesus dealt with these issues?
  4. Read 1 Corinthians 10:13. What are some of the temptations teens face today? How are they different from teens of other generations? How are they similar? How does this verse apply?
  5. Talk about the trifecta for Christian living: God’s Spirit, God’s Word and God’s people. Did Jesus have these three things at work in his life? Which one(s) do you regularly have at work for you? Which one(s) could you use more of?
  6. Is there a step you need to take based on today’s topic?
