Can God help you make big decisions in life or are you all on your own?

God will help you make big decision in life. In making those decisions, there are a few things to remember.

God is watching over your life
God is constantly at work in your life, even when you can’t tell what he is doing.

Proverbs 16:9 We can make our plans, but the Lord determines our steps.

Just because we don’t hear from God, it doesn’t mean that he isn’t working in your life. God usually works behind the scenes in your life. He’s the one who had you meet your best friend, or he is the one who prompted you to apply for your job. God is constantly at work in your life, even when you don’t realize it.

God cares more about your character than your circumstances
God doesn’t care that much about what you eat for dinner, or what shirt you wear to church. God is more interested in the kind of person you are than the everyday choices you make.

1 Thessalonians 4:3 God’s will is for you to be holy, so stay away from all sexual sin.

God’s will for you is to be holy. He wants you to pursue him and not sin. That’s what he wants for you. God wants you to focus on becoming more like Jesus. He leaves it up to you to decide whether to wear sneakers or flip-flops to school.

Trust God’s Word to direct your life
God speaks to you everyday through the Bible. The Bible can lead you through many tough decisions in life.

Psalm 119:105 Your word is a lamp to guide my feet and a light for my path.

If you want to know what God thinks about your decisions, read the Bible. In the Bible, God tells you what kind of person he wants you to be. He talks about how to relate to your parents, friends, and teachers. Everything that God clearly wants for your life can be found in the Bible.

Ask God and others for help
The reality is that when it comes to making decisions like going to college, the Bible isn’t going to give you a clear answer. So, what should you do in those situations? Pray about it. Ask God for wisdom. Don’t make a big decision in your life unless you have prayed about it for a while. And talk to other godly men and women. Seek out their wisdom. Talk to a youth leader or mentor and ask them for advice. Ask them to pray for you.

You are going to face big decisions in your life. And you aren’t always going to know what to do. But remember, God is always leading you. And he is mainly concerned with the kind of person you become the older you get.
