If you're making disciples, you’re on a mission from Jesus. But that doesn’t mean your relationships with people you're mentoring go out the window.

Talking Points:

  • Discipleship is relationship, but there is also a mission and goal when you are making disciples. Sometimes the mission can get in the way of the relationship and vice versa. Matthew 28:18-20
  • Was Jesus only about relationship? Was he only about mission? If mission is part of relationship and relationship is part of mission, he is about both.
  • Discipleship has to start with relationship. We must care about people and they must know we care.
