You can only mentor a few, and that means that your mentoring focus needs to be on the first and second generations.

Talking Points:

  • Start with your mentoring tree. Choose who you want to mentor and then make sure that person is equipped to mentor someone else. The goal is to make mentors who can make more mentors.
  • The Law of 2 generations is simply that you know who you’re mentoring (first generation) and you know the names of who that person mentors (second generation).
