Alyssa Bethke asks and answers the question, "What if girls actually believed we are who God says we are?"

How would your life be different if you truly believed that you were loved? It’s something not very many Christian girls believe, but believing in God’s love can change your life. Alyssa Bethke shares her struggle with accepting God’s love and how her life would have been different if she had realized that she belongs to Him.

Video Highlights:

  • Our culture tries to tell us who we are, who we should be, and where we should find our worth. Unfortunately, our culture does not usually have the right perspective. We are constantly bombarded by images of the “perfect” woman. From a very young age, we are told what should really matter to us as women. Most of it is superficial, and definitely not where we should find our worth.
  • If we really believe that God loves and cherishes us, regardless of what we look like, our lives will be drastically different. God created us in His image and we are beautiful in His eyes. The way you look was shaped with purpose, and you are lovely. He will love us no matter what we do. If we truly believe this, we will be able to live a life free from fear of rejection and isolation.
  • Christ is the only one that can fully satisfy us. Christ gave His life for us and it is through Him that we should find our worth. Guys, clothes, status, or even friends will never be able to give you purpose or love you the way you were meant to be loved.
  • In order to be positive examples for the next generation, we have to start believing in what God says about us. Every generation has struggled with seeing themselves the way God does. It is easier to tell someone else that God truly loves them and created them with purpose, but much harder to believe those words ourselves. However, we can’t preach this message of love and acceptance to the next generation of women if we don’t truly believe it.

It is very easy for girls to feel unloved and unwanted in our society today. We have to realize that all of our worth comes from Christ, who gave His life for ours. Once we realize this, we can find comfort in the fact that God loves us no matter what. This will help us live a life focused on Him and not the things that make us feel unwanted.
