In this section we’ll explain how to use this page with your family. PURSUEGOD RESOURCES are free online tools designed to help you transfer biblical values to anyone – especially your kids. We believe parents are the pastors at home, and our digital library gives you the tools and method to raise kids who pursue God. Watching the video below to learn about “FAMILY TALK” with our tools, and then scroll down for even more answers.

How do we schedule “Family Talk”?

When you gather the family to enjoy a lesson from our library, we call it “Family Talk”. But it won’t happen automatically – the parents have to schedule it! Try doing it in the morning over breakfast or in the evening after dinner. Make it fun and keep it flexible, but be sure to put it on the schedule. Initiating healthy family habits is one of the basic responsibilities of good parents.

What about creating conversations with teens?

Our resources are designed to easily spark meaningful topics, but sometimes that’s more difficult with teens. The key is to pick a topic your teens will be interested in, especially for those first few conversations. Create a conversational environment, and learn to listen. Once they realize the value of your intentional conversations, you’ll be able to pick just about any topic. Check out our youth topics.

What if my kids don’t want to talk?

Mentoring your kids, depending on their age, is not always easy. But if you’re not committed to it, your kids will pick up on it. Let your kids know that it’s your job to invest in them and make them ready for the world. Tell your kids clearly. Sometimes parents make their kids do something they don’t want to do. That’s the incredible responsibility of parenthood. Be the parent. Start mentoring your kids. You’ll be glad you did.

The Pathway

At PG, we want to see people around the world living out a full-circle pursuit of God: trusting Jesus, honoring God, and helping others pursue God. To help you to do this, we’ve put together a 3-month track called “The Pathway”. It’s an expanded version of our Foundations series, and it will guide you through the most basic steps you need to take to become a whole-hearted follower of Jesus. Go through The Pathway with your family, and soon you’ll be ready to help someone else pursue God.
