If we will allow God to write our story it is amazing what he can do. We see this illustrated in the life of Moses, the key figure God used to free his people from slavery in Egypt. And through Moses’ story we learn how God wants to write our story.

Exodus 1:11 So the Egyptians made the Israelites their slaves. They appointed brutal slave drivers over them, hoping to wear them down with crushing labor.

God was working before they knew it

Psalm 139:16-17 You saw me before I was born. Ever day of my life was recorded in your book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed. How precious are your  thoughts about me, O God. They cannot be numbered.

God is always working, always moving the chess pieces of life on our behalf long before we know it. He is active and not passive towards the people he loves. God knew what the Israelites were going through and so he began a plan to bring a deliverer in Moses before they knew he was working. You can count on the fact that God is working for your deliverance before you know it.

God sees and cares and is motivated to take action

Exodus 3:7 Then the LORD told him, “I have certainly seen the oppression of my people in Egypt. I have heard the cries of distress because of their harsh slave drivers. Yes, I am aware of their suffering. “

God sees and cares when the people he loves are hurting and oppressed and is motivated to take action to rescue them. The same God who cared about Moses and his people also cares about you and is motivated to help.

God’s plans are unstoppable

Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you,” says the LORD. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.”

God had a plan to free his struggling and suffering people and when God comes up with a plan his plan is unstoppable. King Pharaoh was the most powerful person on the planet at that time. He had the strongest and most well equipped army and the power of his position as King of Egypt. But he was no match for God and his plans. We can take great comfort in knowing God’s plans for our lives cannot be stopped.

God has no accidents (He knows exactly what he is doing)

God is never surprised or thrown off guard.  By all outward appearances Moses was born in the wrong place at the wrong time. But God is never surprised or thrown off guard. He knew exactly what he was doing in Moses’ life and the lives of his people. And he knows exactly what he is doing in your life as well.

Moses became a person of faith because his parents were people of faith

Hebrews 11:23 It was by faith that Moses’ parents hid him for three months when he was born. They saw that God had given them an unusual child, and they were not afraid to disobey the king’s command.

God is the most accomplished author ever and he wants to write your story. If you will trust him enough to do that, you will not only honor him but you will be pleased with how the story ends.
