In the book of Genesis, Joseph had to learn to deal with injustice. Through his experiences, we can learn how to deal with injustice when we are wronged in our own lives.

  1. Watch the video together or invite someone to summarize the topic.
  2. What is your initial reaction to this video? Do you disagree with any of it? What jumped out at you?
  3. Have you ever had a difficult time forgiving someone? Explain.
  4. Read Genesis 50:18-21. Why didn’t Joseph take revenge on his brothers for what they did to him? What would you have done if you had been in Joseph’s place?
  5. What are some of the consequences for taking revenge against someone, instead of forgiving them?
  6. Read Ephesians 4:32. How does understanding God’s forgiveness to us help us forgive others?
  7. Write down the name of a friend, family member, or other person in your life that you need to forgive. If you are willing, share this with your group.
  8. Write a personal action step based on this conversation.
