The Bible says that it is important to please God with our lives. God made us, he loves us, and he sent his son to die for us. All of this should make us want to please him. Well, there is something important you need to know about pleasing God.

God is easy to please, but impossible to satisfy.
If you understand this about God, then it will really help the way you relate to him. So often people think that God is watching their every move just waiting for them to mess up so that he can judge them or punish them. But the Bible teaches us something different about God.

The Bible says that God is our father.
God is our creator. And if you are a Christian, the Bible says that we are adopted into God’s family, so we relate to God as his children. We aren’t his literal children but he does relate to us a father. For you, that might be a good or bad idea depending on your relationship with your own father. You need to understand, though, that God is the perfect father.

God is proud of any steps we take toward him.
God’s attitude toward you as a Christian isn’t anger or frustration. He loves you no matter where you are in your relationship with him. Think about it. It doesn’t take much effort to impress your dad when you are a baby. Your first words, your first attempts at crawling, and your first steps were all pretty impressive to your parents.

And God is pleased with anything we do from faith no matter how small. Every time you trust God, God is pleased. Every time you obey God, he is pleased. Every time you sin, and repent God is pleased. God is on your side. Maybe your dad never has told you that what you did was good or worthwhile. Well, God does every time. He is really is very easy to please, so why is he impossible to satisfy?

God never wants us to stop growing.
Hopefully, your parents were really happy with you when you took your first steps, or when you said your first words. But no parent wants their kids to stop there. They want them to keep growing.

In the same way, God loves our little steps of faith. But he doesn’t want us to stop. He wants us to keep growing in faith and love.

Ephesians 4:13 This will continue until we all come to such unity in our faith and knowledge of God’s Son that we will be mature in the Lord, measuring up to the full and complete standard of Christ.

There’s no limit for growing in your relationship with God. He wants you to trust him with every part of your life. He wants you to honor him with your actions. And he wants you to help other people pursue him.

As Christians, we need to remember that God loves us. And he accepts us everytime we come to him in faith no matter how often we mess up. But God wants us to keep growing and maturing.

God is easy to please, but impossible to satisfy.
